Just wondering if anyone has any info on getting the oil pan gasket to stop leaking on a B18. I have tried new gasket with proper torque specs, it leaks alittle. then tightened alittle more and leaks like a siv. this is the second gasket i have replaced on the motor since rebuild. Oh and yes the surface is clean, level, and not scratched on the pan or the block. Thanks guys.

Tighten the nuts and bolts holding the pan on and don't over tighten. The nuts will break. Torque for a B18 is 9 ft-lbs. Also, torque in crisscross pattern to assure good gasket seal. Any new gasket will do. If you just put in a new gasket and it still leaks, think about replacing your oil pan, it might me stripped or bent.

Have you tried using automotive RTV silicone gasket maker on the gasket? you can get at your local auto parts store.

here's an idea

I would use oem oil pan gasket. Before you install the new gasket, be sure to check if there is a ring on the stud. I ran across that alot with my customer.

There's one thing you need to do. Just tighten the bolts and of the pan. Or better if you just replace your pan to keep that from happening.
